Fawnda did all the things last week. She saw Shay Kuebler’s Radical System Art company create a lighting spectacle inTelemetry, and later found herself on the other side of the fourth wall as part of Mile Zero Dance‘s SubArctic Improv ensemble–performing mere inches away from Brian Webb. She tells Paul about all the joy and terror therein. Happy Halloween, everyone.
It’s the Year in Review episode! Paul and Fawnda share their thoughts on the year in dance, particularly the highlights. Among other things, they discuss the most affecting show of the season, the dancer with the best name, and the gal in town with dragon balls.
Fawnda and Paul are back at it after moving the blanket fort across the city and snagging the Yeggie Award for Best in Arts & Culture, covering Body Traks by Tony Olivares Dance and Devi presented by the Thousand Faces Festival. Lots in store before the close of the season, so listen close for details about Mile Zero Dance‘s SHO-TEL and Dance at Nextfest.
When Paul flees to Toronto, special guest-host Jen Mesch joins Fawnda in the blanket fort to chat about the Good Women Dance Collective’s Convergence showcase.
